Louise Simmonds is fairy tale like

Louise Simmonds, a BA (Honors) in Fashion Design (Womenswear) graduate from Northbrook College in Sussex. Her first collection, entitled Alter, has a story to tell about ecclesiastical and Renaissance- inspired designs. She's a London based designer who you might have seen featured in Pop and V magazine. A designer of an exciting caliber she has worked with Boudicca, N.O.K.I. and Giles Deacon. How awesome is that?

House of Harlow

I've always liked Mary Kate Olsen's and Nicole Richie's style, I love bohemian styled clothing and accesories, fringing. My second favorite is now Victorian, I've been given a new appreciation for it, but my roots will be boho. House of Harlow is Nicole Richie's jewelry line named after her daughter.

Favorite of the Day

I'm going to say that Annamarie's blog opened my eyes to her sense of fashion taste and I love it!. I'm going to blog fashion of what I like, just to say- I like Victorian fashion too and the flapper eras, but my roots are boho.

Jemma Sykes is an award winning knitwear designer and a graduate from the Royal College of Art. The dress is called "The Elizabeth" and is entirely hand-knitted in 100% by Jemma Sykes certified organic wool. It was created for ethical fashion label Butcher Couture and the photos are from the album artwork of Maria Mena- Cause and Effect. The dress was displayed at Harrods until it was donated for auction at a breast cancer charity event. I'm in love with this dress as well as the images. Isn't this dress magnificent?

Gia Carangi

Gia in Helmet Newton's editorial for Vogue. Pure lust.

Gia Carangi

Yesterday I was asked by my best friend Izzy on my favorite models, of all categories practically, undiscovered, established covergirls. You all know who I like, i know i sound silly saying "you all" but I usually don't follow blogs by publically following, clicking the button, so I know people out there follow mine-silently, maybe? I've mentioned the undiscovered, I've seen many-love many. Of supermodels, you know Coco Rocha, (love her most!) Behati Prinsloo, Lily Donaldson, Sasha Pivovarova, Gemma Ward, Georgina Stojilkovic, Cathereine McNeil, Ana Mirage, Rekaisha, Stam and that bit. And all models in between!
Izzy asked me what my favorite model of the 70's was. I'm going to have to say Gia Carangi.

At age eighteen, Gia Carangi was one of the top models of the late 70's, gracing the covers of Cosmopolitan and Vogue, partying at New York's Studio 54 and the Mudd Club, and rising quickly to prominence. She was the darling of the rich and famous, the object of adoration by many in and out of the fashion world. By the time she turned nineteen, Gia had already rocked the industry.
Gia was also a girl living with a lot of demons, desperate for her mother's love and approval and a drug addict on a tragic slide toward oblivion, who started going directly from $10,000-a-day fashion shoots to the heroin shooting galleries on New York's Lower East Side. Eventually banned from modeling, Gia entered a vastly different world on the streets of New York and Atlantic City, and later in a rehab clinic. At twenty-six, she became one of the first women in the US to die of AIDS, a hospital welfare case visited only by rehab friends and what remained of her family.
For me, Gia is the ultimate beauty- her street-smart attitude and coolness with a touch of vulnerabilty in her eyes, the self-destruction that was in her make me shiver and bring tears to my eyes.
Gia is played by Angelia Jolie known especially in America, but known all over for acting. She played Gia in the 1998 television movie "Gia" and Mila Kunis- known as Jackie (not lying, theiving jackie baba) but Jackie burkehart in the world known tv sitcom, That 70's show, played young Gia.
